Money really isn’t everything.
Years spent building a successful financial management business have made that abundantly clear to our founders, Doug and Shirley Alexander. In their own experience and the lives of their clients they saw that wealth for it’s own sake is never enough. Meaningful life requires that our resources of money, time, and energy be used for something more; transforming the lives of others and ultimately ourselves through generosity.
Eventually their desire for generosity began to be in tension with the time required to continue growing their business. Wanting to provide more than simply handing out cheques, they determined that to most benefit others they needed to establish a private foundation and find someone capable of leading it, while they shared their time with it and their financial clients.
With a developing sense of their purpose they found a compatible director in a friend and former pastor, Chris Wignall. Together they developed the vision into the Catalyst Foundation, beginning in 2008.
