Over the last three years Catalyst has invested more than $60000 to inspiring graduating students from Halton high schools who are ready to orient their lives around pursuing dreams of helping others.
In addition to a $500 scholarship and a year of personal mentoring, Catalyst is partnering with the Halton Learning Foundation and LiveDifferent.com to offer 4-6 graduating students a one week experience in the Dominican Republic. Together we will be seeing firsthand both the effects of poverty and some of the leading organizations and people working to make a difference. Rather than spending the whole week in one location building a house or school, we will have exposure to at least half a dozen agencies that we believe are demonstrating strategies that can not only help those in need, but eventually foster the kind of dignified interdependence that brings lasting change.
This unique opportunity will be directly guided by Catalyst’s Executive Director, Chris Wignall, along with the experienced team at Live Different.
